An All American Town
Travel over the famous Arthur Ravenel Bridge and you are greeted by another tourist mainstay, the USS Yorktown, which welcomes you into the town of Mount Pleasant. Mount Pleasant has its origins in the Old Village, a quaint community that provides a quiet oasis amidst the bustle of activity in this growing part of town. The Old Village offers some exceptional waterfront property along with a southern community ambiance.
Over the years, Mount Pleasant has expanded out from the village, with tremendous growth in the number and variety of living options. From master planned communities like Park West and Dunes West to classic neighborhoods such as Shemwood and Snee Farm, there is something for everyone. New developments such as Carolina Park and Oyster Point feature a wide variety of floor plans and styles. If you are looking to be closer to the action or shorten your commute to work, then you may want to look into the I’On or Olde Park subdivisions.
No matter where you live here, you will have plenty of shopping and dining options nearby. These include places like the Towne Centre Mall, an open air shopping center which features a 16-screen movie theater along with over 60 stores and restaurants. The town is also home to the only Trader Joe’s and Whole Foods Market in the area. Combine these things with Shem Creek, Patriot’s Point, and the beautiful beaches of Sullivan’s Island/Isle of Palms, just a short ride away, and Mount Pleasant has all you could ask for and more.
